Denver cruises past UNO

The Privateers (1-3) surrendered a late first half run and were never really in the game after that, falling at Denver by a 79-60 score. Freshman Colton Weisbrod led New Orleans with 17 points.

UNO returns home this Saturday for a doubleheader with the women's team. Both teams will be taking on Crowley's Ridge.

Privateers fall to Texas A&M

Gill led UNO with 16 points

New Orleans (1-2) led early but could not keep pace with the Aggies of Texas A&M in College Station, falling by an 87-65 score Friday afternoon.

The Privateers' top three scorers were sophomores and freshmen, with sophomore Christavious Gill pacing UNO with 16 points followed by freshman Colton Weisbrod with 12 and sophomore Tevin Broyles with 11.

Next on the schedule is a road matchup at former Sun Belt Conference rival Denver on Sunday afternoon.

TCU defeats UNO 86-71

Although New Orleans hung with host TCU for most of the night, a late first half blitz by the Horned Frogs gave them separation and led them to a comfortable 86-71 victory on Thursday night.

Kevin Brown again led the Privateers in scoring with 21 points, and fellow senior Terrance Syon added 15 to go with 9 rebounds.  Sophomore Christavious Gill added 13.

UNO Wins Handily in Opener

in his Privateer debut

The Privateers won their opening men's basketball game of the season for the third year in a row, drubbing Pensacola Christian by a score of 88-61.  Senior transfer Kevin Brown led the way with 18 points in his UNO debut. Freshman Colton Weisbrod shot 6-for-6 in his college debut for 12 points and tied for a team high with 6 rebounds.

New Orleans hits the road on Thursday for its second contest of the season as they take on the TCU Horned Frogs.
